Never noticed the gear indicator on the type s. Where is it? And whys it so important

like. If I just put it in second. Why do I need a reminder it’s still in second. Am I too old to get it?

I ask myself that sometimes, too. LOL. Find myself cruising in 5th sometimes when I thought I shifted into 6th. My memory fails me too often nowadays. Honestly, it doesn't hurt to have it on the 6sp even if it's a little indicator like it is on the Type S. I just don't understand why it's not a feature, at least allow the user to enable or disable it if it's already on the trims/models.

Just my two cents on this. I am new to the platform coming from a manual Corvette with a 7 Speed manual. I have around 1,000 miles in my 2025. The A Spec revs so much higher I keep looking for another gear. In the Corvette in 7th gear at 80mph, the car is turning around 1500 RPMs, in this car I feel like it’s screaming, but it loves to be up over 3,000. I just have to get used to the higher revving engine.

Agree, if any manual begs for a shift indicator it’s this car. I’ve owned a dozen stick shifts and never shifted from 6th to 6th before. I’ve done it a handful of times in the Integra. My TSX reved just as high at speed but must have had more differentiation between gears.
