I wish Ktuner would support us since it seems tuning ability is a bit better.
The other killer is we need to get fuel upgrades as well. So this becomes a $6k turbo upgrade.

Similar goals to you... I want a more pronounced vtec crack and a little more high rpm grunt. I'm not trying to set records.
with that in mind as your goal..While CTR FL5 has smaller turbo than the FK8; it produces more power. Here's some good information:

https://hondata.com/technical-information-hondata-FL5-civic-type-r-turbo-dyno-test

https://prlmotorsports.com/blogs/news/2023-honda-civic-type-r-fl5-turbocharger-upgrade-talk

"The factory FL5 turbocharger features an 8-blade billet compressor wheel with "extended-tip" technology in comparison to the FK8's cast 6+6 "split" 6-blade wheel. Because of material differences, the FL5's compressor wheel is thinner, lighter, and features more aggressive aero. "

So the new turbo is.... smaller but designed to have less turbo lag and more responsive torque Powerband to accelerate faster out of corners. Less top end horsepower but it seems Honda/Acura designed for quick response with less inertia, thus reduces turbo lag to be great on the track and daily driving.

I'm curious if MHI stage 2 turbo incorporates these designs. RV6 and P700 were made for the FK8 and does have high performance. So perhaps we wait to see what tuning can be had for the ITS to keep fast response and fast turbo spooling.

perhaps in time Ktuner will add support or we will have to stick with hondata, which isn’t bad by any means. But yes, the $6k turbo upgrade is a killer, and flex fuel system upgrade while struggling to get the proper fuel in colorado is a challenge for me. all other upgrades are on the table to utilize standard pump gas.
I’m over here still trying to order A-spec rear seats to upgrade as you have 🤣
