I’ve done the Brembo conversion but pad materials are all relatively the same no matter the pad size.
If you want bite definitely go down the semi-metallic brake pad route, but you’ll have brake dust and occasional brake squeal. They’re more aggressive to the rotor so you’ll notice more rotor...
Fuel in the oil is inevitable in a direct injection vehicle. As long as it is low it’s fine, which you won’t be able to know just by sniffing it. The only way to know how much % of fuel is in the oil is by an oil analysis. (Coming from a 10th gen civic with several oil analysis) Short trips are...
No way to disable TPMS without warnings on the dash. The metal can trick should work, but will need the 4 sensors by each tire since each wheel has an antenna for the TP sensor, but at that point might as well get them installed on the winter set up
Seeing how the TLX Type S instrument cluster is even more basic than the ITS, the ITS cluster is actually the better of the two lol. Just to put it in perspective, but completely agree the CTR cluster is the best cluster
You would probably have to hack into the board to change up anything. Just changing clusters alone requires programming to the vehicle to display correctly without throwing DTC’s for can communication issues with the cluster
Picked it up at the local dealer to me, special ordered it. Came in 5 days later. Thankfully, I work at a repair shop so was able to pick it up at wholesale price ?.
I also got the spare tire through tire rack, since the tire at the dealer was more than the kit itself.
Just buy a wheel spacer converter. The only thing you’ll need to know is the offset so that you don’t push the wheel out too much. You need a 5x114.3 to 5x120 converter. Another thing to keep in mind is you will be going to a bigger wheel which decreases ride comfort a bit if you care about that.
These cars have a bypass valve system which reroutes the air back into the intake for the car to then use. So it is “projected” metered air. With a BOV you are venting to atmosphere, which now the car no longer has that metered air that it is expecting to have. Which means it will be shooting...
Don’t have a type S, but running the genesis brembo’s, which uses the same brake pad as the CTR and ITS. I can confirm there is little to no brake dust with akebono’s. Brake bite isn’t as strong with ceramic brake pads though.
There is no direct linkage/wire to the ebrake, most is ran through the can gateway. When it receives signal of the vehicle speed as well as receives/communicates the vehicle is in P (for CVT) or ebrake on for manuals then it unlocks features and settings
For your information:
Especially if you use brake hold often.
While at work I noticed a new bulletin on the Integra. Should be interesting to see parts availability for effected vehicles since a good majority of Integra parts are on back order.
Then yeah if it’s not showing on the cluster then points to the camera being the culprit.
Stupid question but something I would attempt if you brought it to me, in the radio settings you can turn the speed limit sign off/on (doubt it’ll fix it but with how glitchy car tech can be now a days...
This is from the service manual, doesn’t really specific when to replace. Most Honda/Acuras are a replace when the service indicator on the dash tells you too now. Doesn’t say to replace at XX,XXX miles anymore, unless you fall into the special category, but a dealer will always try to sell it...
There is a front center jacking point. It’s behind the engine you’ll see a cross beam that is somewhat covered with the plastic undercarriage, right behind the metal shield that you remove when changing the oil/trans fluid. It’s extremely deep to get too, and if lowered you’ll need to get the...
I have access to alldata for work, surprisingly info is still limited from Acura on repair guides. Figure since most cars are still new and don’t need extensive repairs just yet. I will try to update as more info becomes available. Here is maintenance guides out so far...
