My sunroof dreams are irrelevant now. For $100 more (that's not a typo) going the M240i xDrive route which has a sunroof standard (aside from AWD and about 100 more hp!).
The ITS is officially dead. $52K for a fancy FWD Civic is insane even in 2023. Acura messed up big time. They are...
Nobody thought it would be cheaper than a Type R MSRP. Most assumed $4K more (basically for the stereo and heated seats). $7K more is just price gouging. You even lose some of the track functionality (logR, shift light, stronger bolsters, etc.).
I was wrong at my $48K +/- $1.5K estimate. Most were.
It's completely dead now though. TBH Acura is dead to me in general, no $/performance offering.
I guess they are trying to cash in on those that MUST have a 6MT and space...
Personally I don't, the ZF8 M240i xDirve is more practical in...
The manual is dead for all but performance options (M2, Supra, Z, etc.)
Maybe that's why they landed at an insane price that's $100 less than a 100 more hp, AWD BMW?
No kids here which is why the M240i works fine. Thought the ITS was the move for some future proofing, but not at $52K. I...
Absolute failure. For $52K a BMW B58 is the way. I was really excited for this, but that has completely dissappeared. I tried making excuses for all the missing features (assuming it was to cut costs to land at $48K). At $52K delivered, Acura is officially dead to me.
The TLX Type S gets...
The 20 year old RSX has a moonroof, even the base. It was an Integra everywhere but the US & Canada. The Type R didn't have one though because 'racecar' (and iir the base Canadian model could option it off).
I'm guessing they took it off in year one to keep the price down for marketing...
That is also what I'm cross-shopping with. To be honest I was set on a Thundernight with red leather and the wheel/cooling pack to the tune of $59K. I planned to wait for CPO version for $10K off. I had the mods planned and everything haha.
Now the ITS comes along and I'm coming to my senses...
$47K-$48K the ITS makes a lot of sense. It's a decently powerful, somewhat premium, great handling, light enough, very usable liftback. Its standard features make it a deal over the M235i, S3, CLA, etc. The M2/340i is another story as those are way better performers but also $7-$12K more.
The...
I think they will add a moonroof. I don't buy the structural integrity argument, it's not like 700hp haha.
They can also add rear vents and heated seats.
Hoping they add the Accord larger screen in the 2025 model too. We will see...
I feel this is to keep the base price of the ITS under $48K for the enthusiasts.
Then they'll have an Advance tier next year that will have more creature comforts but be $49.9K or something.
I really hope it's a full second set. That would be worth it.
To be honest, I've been out of the tire game for a while and it seems performance all-seasons have made strides. I used change from Start Spec's to IceX every year to get the best of both worlds, but that might not be worth it...
From these accessory lists, it looks like the bronze wheels are actually $2K more... which is absolutely insane.
You can powdercoat any color for much cheaper or just sell and get a new set of Apex VS 5RS in Championship Gold for $780 each ($3,120 total).
I would use the stock ones for winter...
Personally, I am a huge fan of sunroofs. I use mine in my RSX-S all the time. The fresh air can feel great and the light it lets in makes the small cabin feel bigger. Very disappointed the ITS doesn't have one (yet). I also understand that some never use it, might be too tall for it, and...
First post! I currently drive my original VBP RSX Type S that has just 50,000 miles on it. It's tastefully modified and has served me well over the years. Now that I've had it for literally half my life, I'll be looking to upgrade to a ABP ITS in a few years. The idea of a more functional 4...
