Here we go again with the "I'm not cross-shopping these $52K cars, therefore nobody else is". I have that $ ready for an upgrade to my RSX-S to something faster and more 'adult'. I don't need the ITS level space at all or the manual... I would love the AWD (Chicago), sunroof, and 11.2s 1/4 of...
All situations are different, but even assuming zero debt, if you buy a $52K car (which will be more after TTL, etc.) and don't make $150K, you're irresponsible (max out your IRA, 401K first fam). In the US people WAY overleverage themselves on cars. One should follow the 20/4/10 rule...
A lot of mental gymnastics here... Yes I would hope anyone that can afford this car (aka making $150K+ if they're responsible) can divide a $5K greed charge over 10 years.
Acura simply saw a gap in the market and priced according to what morons in the US would pay (remember it's much cheaper in...
The RSX back seats are the same material as the fronts... and that's from 20 years ago. I've taken care of my leather and don't really have an cracks aside from some light ones in the driver's bolster. Times have changed it seems.
I just would have wanted some contrast in the center of the...
I honestly wonder how many people were willing to put down $2K for it in this market with stiff competition. Make up a number say 5K people... major concerts have 25x that demand and the systems tend to hold just fine. I would be curious to see the unique IP hits.
Also, I've heard comments...
I never even thought about the "sun shade" (or know what it was called).
I have always had mine open since the first day I drove it in 2005. Makes the small cabin feel a bit bigger with the extra light.
I use my RSX's sunroof a LOT, it's super refreshing and brightens / opens up the interior imho.
It has never leaked in 18+ years of ownership.
Looks like they are playing the 'performance' card though haha. At least the M240i has it for the same price (and 100hp more haha).
Should be under MSRP as it's already $4K too high imho.
Waiting for the hype to die down, will revisit in a year or so to see if these get priced to the market, otherwise it's B58 time.
Parking is $420 a month in my highrise for a reserved spot (and there's been several shootings over the last 2 years in our garage). I go with $205 for a non-reserved spot in the garage across the street, which isn't ideal but much better value. Having two cars in the city with a 99 transit...
Oh they do. I don't think I've ever seen the MSRP of a car get laughed at as hard as this. Normally enthusiasts can guess mid-tier cars within $1-$2K. This was off by $4K from everyone's expectations.
Reddit, facebook, youtube, etc. are in lock step.
Agreed. The screen in the ITS is already outdated (see the much better Accord one).
My RSX-S is basically fully analog and weighs only 2,800lbs, that's not a thing anymore and much more of a 'classic' than this ITS will ever be.
Love my RSX-S but this MSRP is madness. All the comments on reddit, youtube, facebook, etc seem to be in agreement.
It's $100 cheaper than a M240i xDrive. I'll be getting a heavily optioned CPO one in Thundernight in a year or so.
Acura is smoking the good stuff and trying to live off the hype...
I have $50Kish to spend for something sporty, how are people confused I would cross shop a coupe and a sedan?
I understand those going the other route that NEED a sedan, but going from a coupe to a sedan for extra space is just a 'bonus'.
Regardless, Acura is a joke now. Honestly quite sad...
I live in a slightly less snowier midwestern area (Chicago). I feel the xDrive AWD will do better than FWD (even though xDrive is RWD biased). I'll put on some conti DWS06+'s and be fine. A Supra or Z is also too impractical for me, but I can get by with a M240i. The extra space of the ITS...
I am as target as a demographic as possible. I drive a manual RSX-S and make enough to afford a $50K sporty car.
My value for my $ is much, much better on a CPO M240i xDrive than a ITS after this insane pricing. Even at $48K my friends thought I was crazy considering a FWD glorified Civic.
Guessing they will be under MSRP in 6 months. Not many insane people spending $52K for a fancy FWD Civic. The used market will crash too as people come to their senses and buy CPO M340i's running 12.2's.
