Emailed my service advisor about the new part number and got a reply fairly quickly. Can't say enough good about Gary Force Acura here in Nashville. Really good people who seem to want to make me a happy customer.
Here's the email I received back:
"Josh (service manager) will reach out to you...
Just took a peek to see if I could determine any parts availability and it looks like we have another new part number for the Rack Assembly: 53620-3S5-A34 (previous was A24).
I just sent an email to Honda regarding the issue. I am doing all I can in hope that this issue can get fixed soon. It's very disappointing to get a new car that doesn't work as designed and there is no fix available.
I understand the legal side of the issue and I know Honda/Acura corporate...
That has to be maddening.
I'm very lucky my Acura dealer is only about 30 miles away and as soon as I mentioned the steering issue, they knew exactly what I was talking about.
Right now we're just waiting on parts availability. According to my service manager, there are no parts available...
Let us know if they can find the part to perform the fix. My service manager told me there were no parts available in the system. He said he didn't know if it was a stop sale, or if there simply was no inventory.
Wow!
Honda really dropped the ball...or the parts supplier did. Either way, it looks bad on Honda.
I would consider anything related to steering to be a safety issue. I find it really odd that the NHTSA hasn't forced a recall for the sticky steering issue. Especially given that there have...
Odd...mine did that today too. Never done it before. I had just come from the car wash, so I figured maybe some water had blown up on the sensor and activated the wipers. But it only did it when I turned the car off.
Mine works fine, except for being a little slow and not updating automatically. If I open the app and tap "refresh", it takes 30 seconds or so before it updates.
My wife's Lexus has a similar app, and it updates when you open the app. It takes maybe half the time to update. It's a nicer app...
Got a call from the dealer service manager this morning. He was very nice and said he was aware of the issue and did some research into the new part numbers I shared. He said it did look like parts were superseded but that there were none of the new parts available. He shared with me that one of...
True.
The only comparison I have is with Lexus and Ford dealers. Granted, when my Ford had to go in for warranty work it was due to a transmission failure...no denying that one. But the Lexus dealer has always treated us like royalty even though we purchased a $29k CPO car. We got two years...
Reply from my service advisor:
"We have not heard anything official from Acura , I did forward your email to our district Parts and Service manage for review."
I accept some of the blame on this one as I should have test driven the car before buying it. The 2024 model I did test drive was...
My thoughts exactly. I fired off an email to my service advisor with the information I found here regarding the part numbers. Hopefully I'll hear back soon. I also wanted a written communication in the event the steering locks up to the point where it causes a crash. I want to make sure I can...
That was me.
I bought a 2024 CPO with 4500 on the odometer. Stupidly I didn't test drive it before buying it as I'd already test driven the exact same car that was new. Had I test driven it, I'd have not bought it.
I love the car, but the steering issue is maddening. It's like playing a...
I came from a WRX, which had a stock suspension that was just flat uncomfortable. I replaced it with some aftermarket units that were supposed to be "comfort" coil overs and they were much better than stock, but I wouldn't call them "comfortable".
When I jumped in the Integra on my test drive...
