Just installed this Billetworkz beauty. 500g. It really smooths up the shifts dramatically, and looks gorgeous. Keeping the leather Honda knob as a backup for extreme weather.
Nevermind... They're cheap. I bought em and I will report back. I might just install one of them: whichever controls the lateral detent.

Please post up your results here too, after you install the detent springs.
Also, from hybrids website, it seems the detent springs will only affect the throw play while the "gear selector springs" kit affects the gate play.
I'm hesitant to change either of these out until I hear from a...
Update: I just installed 15mm Bonoss spacers all around and was pretty impressed with the product quality. Was a good purchase. Upon lowering back to the ground and taking her for a drive, I feel that a very mild lowering is in order, so I ordered the H&R Sport springs 28714-2 kit.
I actually...
I agree with this. In stock form, the damping and motion ratio on this car feels better than many coilovers setups on other platforms. Very well tuned.
Ok update time! I got the Acuity Stage 3 shifter a day early so I just installed it. net-net it's an improvement, but - to me at least - it isn't mind blowing. Like it's definitely not as much of a change as when I installed an Auto Solutions SSK in my M2cs back in the day. Now, this is a cable...
Good info on the rear camber, thank you. If I do lower the car I would install these as I will be tracking this car. Same for the front indexing pins on the struts.
For now, I'm waiting for some spacers to arrive, and will assess whether that is enough for me. I'd rather not lower the car if I...
I find it weird when people act this way on forums. I don't understand the premise of thinking your beliefs are more "true" than anyone else's.
So weird.
I'm not sure what you mean by 1st and 3rd acting any differently. This is a cable driven mechanism... All the gears are selected the same way. It doesn't matter if the centering spring is preloaded or not, you're still using two cables to move the transmission forks.
I wrote to H&R and asked them about the spring rates, and while they would not tell me the actual rates they did kindly confirm the following:
1) The rates are slightly higher than OEM
2) The front spring rate is *higher* than the rear spring rate, just like OEM. That also means that the list...
Ok I have an update from Acuity. First off, they were as gracious and honest as I anticipated, so props to them!
Here's the skinny: the side-to-side freeplay when in gear (and in neutral, for the same reason) is not caused by any tolerance slop in the shifter mechanism nor the shift...
This echoes my experience too. I was actually also cross-shopping a preowned 6MT G80 against the ITL and it was a tempting affair. But ultimately I wanted something newer and in warranty, and *lighter*. After owning a string of extremely fast high-HP BMWs I have been craving lightness and...
Thanks fellas! Maybe you can give me your subjective view on this: my one concern with the H&R springs is the weird lower front relative rate vs the rear - the opposite of stock. I'm concerned this will upset the mid-corner bump balance of the car. What's your experience relative to the spoon...
Ordered an alcantara steering wheel with my car and it was just installed. Car had 200 miles on it at time of removal, and I have just cleaned and applied Gyeon Leather Shield Evo as a bonus. If you're not familiar, this product will prevent the leather from ever getting shiny (clean and reapply...
Nice! Good to see a fellow M2 guy here. Honestly, I actually enjoy the smoothness of the Honda shifter a lot, as compared to BMW and my prior MT track car, a C7 Corvette GS. Those shifters are very direct, but also very industrial feeling. This feels more refined. It's not better or worse, but...
For some, including myself, the shifter is the second most important part of the driving experience (the first being the steering wheel and the third being the brake pedal). I'm an advanced run group track day driver and still the intuitiveness (or lack thereof) of the shifter feel does...
Well, I went ahead and ordered the stage 3 kit, lol
And guys, all this is about preferences. No reason to get in camps and defend them. There's nothing to defend.
