I feel like all manufacturers go in waves. I loved mid 2010s audi and mid 2000s Honda. Recent bmw (until most recent) have been getting insanely good. Hyundai has dramatically upped their game, and even mid 2010s Hyundai on the genesis platform (coupe and sedan) was on par with some luxury...
It's just an o ring. Nothing catastrophic. Their lifetime is like 100k miles typically.
Jimothy on the assembly line probably just twisted it up or got some of his lunch on it during build so now it's leaking.
When you took them out of maintenance, you did get the success notification right? And you cycled the parking brake a few times?
That error and codes are saying they don't see the brake caliper epb as serviceable and that happens when they're disconnected or still in maintenance.
The design for the hitch looks nifty.
I don't know how much math you guys have done but the car's load limit is only 680lbs. The rear axle can support 1763lbs and has room for max 540lbs (assuming you only weigh 140 to stay under 680max). With a hitch rack extending out pretty far, you can...
It happens man, we've all learned the hard lessons like this before.
At least now you know to go back and check everything in and around what you touched after doing work!
I forgot a gasket once doing an intercooler. Ended up having to undo the 10 hrs of work I just did to get back to it...
You can always try the safety approach with the dealer your next effort. Tell them you're concerned it's coming from the airbag (because that is definitely the area) and they can't really ignore it.
Agreed the acura dealer/support experience isn't great. I was hopeful recently it would improve...
Not without a redesign of the roof supports and the a, b, and c pillars.
Probably not worth it to do for acura unless they raise the price by $5k base and make it a factory option to "pay to not have".
It would be a nice option though, despite the awful 100lb+ weight penalty in the worst place.
I agree for straight line use.
Once you get on track more power means longer braking zones and more heat into tires and brakes. This is where most people up their brake compound game. Then they boil fluid all the time because despite crazy strong brakes, the tires can't keep up for what the...
... Honestly... You just get used to it.
Don't get me wrong, a person with little on the edge experience will easily find more power than talent in any fast car.
A person with legitimate experience will see a miata and a Ferrari as the same experience but one with just much faster input...
True story.
When you compare power to weight things start to normalize a bit, but yeah, more power can obviously win a lot and then you play the supporting mods game.
It happens all the time with those new to track work. It often goes in cycles and rarely addresses the root issues of balance...
Supposedly the Fl5 fascia is different, new longer "splitter" section, and revised front end aero. Probably more ducting and shielding behind the bumper.
Comparing the cars' aero, the type s was always the one with a more intelligent front end design and difference in back wasn't huge between...

I used my own fittings to make it fit the motive, and it's a snuuuug fit. That's what you want though, but just make sure to rub a little brake fluid on the gaskets first to make it easier.
From a flow perspective and max power, yes.
The problem with factory design is not how it runs but where it runs, and most intakes don't solve the problem. Sitting idle is the most noticeable thing where you lose throttle response for a bit as you suck down warm air for a bit, but there's also...
It's all about delta, though. 5F higher is 5F higher. An intercooler can only scrub so much, and a bigger intercooler than factory starts to have other tradeoffs (weight, lag, aero, radiator blocking).
I've seen huge iat reductions from the gold foil and wrapping the turbo and that's all due to...
I have not had this one!
It sounds almost like it's happening as some firewall to dash contact. Can you feel the vibration? Does it stop if you press up from inside the glove box?
Where do you press on the dash to make it stop?
I've had/fixed several rattles in the general area. One I swore was the glove box and turned out to be the screen back 😑
One of my HPDE students with a type r dropped his iat from the 180s to mid-high 130s with the drip tray removed. At speed and at idle it definitely helps with extraction. It's much more effective when moving, though.
I personally never tested it because I've been removing it for track outings...
If you're really sweating idle iat, gold foil everything that can heat soak (the intake box, the charge pipes, the radiator ends), upgrade that carbon prl pipe to the titanium one and wrap it in gold too, then blanket the turbo and slap the heatshield back on. It will definitely drop your idle...
