It's hard to tell how sophisticated the oil life monitor is in these cars, but I know some other makers like GM have a pretty solid algorithm that takes into account quite a few variables like idle time, rpm, oil temp, coolant temp, ambient temp, oil pressure, etc. to correlate fuel and...
Love my Tuxmats. The clutch pedal thing is real but I've had them in my car for several months now and I don't notice it now. Cleaning them is super easy, I just vacuum them really quick, spray a ton of P&S interior cleaner on them, and wipe them. Technically the majority of the material is a...
Oh man I want this piece BAD. Did you just message them to get it? I don't have any experience with them but I've seen some of the stuff they've made over the years.
Granted it is the break in oil change, but I'm not a big fan of the factory fill for these cars given that it's sheared out of grade in 1k miles. I was never going to run the factory fill or Hondas off-the-shelf oil, but I will be running Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or something higher at the end...
This whole part here is loose so if I press on it (can visibly see a gap that closes when I press on it, so mine might be total garbage), it moves in and out and can rattle against the trim piece. I'm able to get it to rattle like crazy with music/sine sweeps, and I can touch it while it's doing...
I just realized this weekend that my front passenger speaker grill is like almost detached on the top or something so the whole upper section can just rattle in there. The way I even realized that was one of the rattles was using a sine sweep with the volume at a decent level. I used one on...
Yeah I'll be honest the rattles are starting to bother me. If I can't fix them or if it doesn't get better when the weather warms up then I may have to go to something else.
Did you get the auto or manual? Just wondering if you think it's fun to drive like the DE5 is. A90 or M2 are basically...
I can help out here a bit, the rear calipers are Ate, as are the rear pads. The fronts are Brembo pad and caliper obviously. I replaced them with Paragon P2s front and rear but will be trying some Endless SSM+ soon.
Stock front Brembo pad:
Honda/Ate rear pad:
Random dirty FK8 caliper off...
I've been trying to figure out who I want to tune my car and posts like this really make me want to just bite the bullet. Jester sounds a joy to deal with and I know he's tuned a TON of these cars at this point so I might be nearing my breaking point and finally getting it tuned.
You mentioned...
Did mine like a month ago and the one nut got seized on the top stud toward the head and snapped the stud in half, the other nut came off but took half of the threads with it. Had to take it to a machine shop and they had a difficult time taking out the one that was seized. Asked them if they...
Yeah on mine that vent and the dash material around it squeaks when I press on it. Definitely some temperature and car movement dependence to it but man I'm hoping that goes away when the weather warms back up. That one is actually annoying enough I'm gonna have to pull it out and put some foam...
? You gotta take it easy until it warms up though! Until you get close to operating temp engines experience accelerated wear, especially with load, and that's aside from the car getting mad at you which is probably combustion event related.
