It will be interesting to see what the car market is like in 6 months if the stock market is down another 20% and we're in serious recession.
Stocks are still very high and the trillions in stimulus are still inflating the car market.
My kids hate riding in the back seat of a car with no arm rest. That and the middle seat cupholders are major negatives of both cars.
Not saying I won't buy a Type R, it depends on the markup. I won't buy either car over $50k.
I think they're believing their own hype. Yes, the Type R is the greatest FWD performance car, does that mean it's a good buy at $100k? No, it was always great in part because it was affordable. Priced against AWD or RWD competition, or higher, it makes a lot less sense.
Mustang (and GRC) is fine for kids under 10 if occasional use. My kids are getting too big. Iād take the Type R over this, if itās also over $50k Iāll get an Si or maybe Integra 6mT if they discount those.
Yeah, that makes perfect sense - hatchbacks give up a lot of body stiffness vs sedans, so they make that up with support bars where the moonroof would go.
my blue 2020 Si got lots of attention and admiration and school and summer camp pickup/dropoff. It was the only cool car among a sea of SUVs and minivans.
My wife would probably veto a Caddy also. I wish the CT4 Blackwing had a normally aspirated V8, that would be so much more awesome than the turbo V6, although they gave it a nice growl.
I really don't need 668 hp or a car as big as the CT5-V Blackwing.
so they picked the Si (which is not a hatch!) over both cars? ?
interesting the Mazda had lots of creaks and rattles compared to the Integra.
I think Iād still pick the ST 6mT over the 6mT Mazda3 if I didnāt need an LSD. But I do.
Very true, I just saw an article saying exactly that, carmakers reduce production of lower trims/vehicles and make more top trims.
But this is out of date thinking, they will have to adjust to the new reality as the stock market bubble deflates, and the market demands lower cost vehicles...
Yeah, it's played out but I still like a flat bottomed steering wheel. :D
I'd be shocked if the ITS just gets a Civic steering wheel with an Acura badge. It's not like it's hard to change the steering wheel.
Also I'd love to see alcantara inserts/leather bolstered seats, I just don't want it...
I like the 6mT Tech and the stuff it gets, but $10k over my 2020 Si, for a car which is probably slower? Pass. I like the 1.5T a lot, but in a $35k car, not so much.
6mT Type S would get my interest. At this point I'm expecting to get the Type R or Corolla GR if it gets the differentials.
A 7" longer hatchback Si. I'm not against longer cars, I like the CT4 Blackwing and it's the same length as last gen M3, but it just seems so unnecessary to turn a nice compact looking hatch into a longish blobby sedan.
