If you can figure out a way to remove the clip and shift it further back similar to oem then try it. I can't recall if it was possible since its been years but I think it wasn't possible.
The problem is with mikstores kit. Some people get lucky and maybe get as close as 1-2mm gap, it's due to the length of the clips. I've contacted mikstore about it but they basically ghosted me after a few emails.
I bought a chasing Js Dipstick, pricey but at least I can read the dipstick on fresh oil versus the crap orange OEM. Only bad thing I can say about this, it gets extremely hot and letting the engine cool down a bit still hot to the touch.
I bought it from here https://www.alldiscountparts.com/
I'll email them first just in case since their online doesn't reflect their inventory. It won't solve the gap issue since you bought the mikstore kit but it may fix the issue with the bracket concern.
83405-T60-A21ZA. It's a bit pricey since it comes with the armrest and bracket.. Unfortunately you can't buy them separately. If you like alcantara, it's a good option or you can just sell it which I did.
are you using the DE5 bracket or FL5? When I did this mod, I swapped and purchased all FL5 parts including the FL5 bracket/armrest. The DE5 brackets notches don't quite fit too well in the FL5 center console, possibly the reason why you have to modify more.
I'm assuming you bought the mikstore rear ac kit. It won't see flush regardless how much you trim. I've contacted them about it and it seems a lot of people have the same issue.
Mine was s bit notchy going to 2-3 and 4-5 when it was brand new. It got better overtime possible due to break-in. I heard people changing transmission fluid to Amsoil or GM Synchromesh would improve the smoothness.
Technically you don't have to remove the ECU. All you need to do is remove the 2 bolts on the ECU and push aside. Also if it's just a filter clean, just need to do loosen all the clamps, unbolt the filter box, and shimmy the whole box out.
Anyone have their door check squeaking already? Notice mine started to squeak around the second notch. Tried spraying white Lithium grease on the door hinges and the door check but pretty sure it's coming from the door check. Wanted to see if any other options before I replace it since it's...
Yeah, my main gripe as well. I like the design and the style but doesn't look too physically appealing when you want to let the struts do the work without guiding it. Kind of notice on the install video, he edited it out the bounce part.
I just recently installed the WOT hood struts and was wondering does it make your hood bounce when you let the damper lift the hood on it's own at the end. I assume since the dampers are smaller and the location where it's mounted might cause it but just curious if anyone see the same thing.
Thinking about picking this up as well. Any cons to it and how's has it been holding up? Can't really justify paying 3x the cost of PRL or Mishimoto when it basically looks the same.
anyone have issues closing the hood from just pushing it down? Was planning to do this mod but my hood takes significant amount of force just to close it and don't want to dent my hood in the process. Watching the vid posted, it looks like it didn't take that much force and normally I have to...
