  1. Why the Integra had to be a five-door (not for lack of trying) says Acura head

I’m pretty sure that the base will end up getting the CVT from Civic. That would be a deal breaker for me tho :( I don’t know, maybe I should give it a try. Maxima’s CVT wasn’t tooo bad and Hyundai taught me how crappy DCT can be too so we’ll see.
  2. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Integra TCR sounds interesting. Probably mechanically identical to next gen Civic TCR, just like how VW group does things in TCR.
  3. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Were the door trims covered too? If not, did they look different from the ones in the Civic?
  4. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Nah they are not forgetting. They just don't know lol Most of the time "Car people" don't know much. They just act like they know everything. A lot of them don't even understand the basic concept of how cars are designed, developed and built. I don't know much either, but I know when to keep my...
  5. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Yeah 215hp 1.6T, LSD and Recaros from Juke Nismo RS would've been amazing. They literally had everything ready in their parts bin. My disappointment back then wasn't even comparable to Si loosing 5hp lol
  6. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

All of those cars will be better options for someone who want a performance performance bargain. Integra won't stand a chance. I don't think LSD will be the main selling point of the Integra. It's just a bonus that the "main" competitors don't have. Because like you said, those who actually...
  7. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Why are you comparing the integra to those sport compacts? They are not its main rivals. (Except maybe Mazda3) Integra isn’t a sport compact. In fact, it never was at least in base trim. We should compare it to entry level compact cars. A3 8” shorter 2GC 7” shorter CLA 0.6” shorter A sedan...
  8. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

The way he said it makes me think that the 6mt and LSD will be offered as a package deal. 6mt will probably come with LSD top trim or not and DCT/CVT or whatever will only come with open diff.
  9. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Not really sure if you read my post. The problem here is that Acura failed to differentiate the side profile of their Sedans from the ones from Honda. I'm arguing that the Integra looks that way because of the TLX, not the Civic. Tell me how many of those lines are shared only with the Civic...
  10. The New Integra was never meant to be "Retro" Says Acura

Don't forget the rear wiper lol so 19-29 pounds :D
  11. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

It's not a Civic Hatch with different front and rear clips. Yes, all the hard points are in the same spot as they share the basic structure. But if you look closely, all the parting lines are in fact different. This means that the doors, fenders, side skirts, roof, etc. are not interchangeable...
  12. The New Integra was never meant to be "Retro" Says Acura

I thought it would sit right between the sedan and the hatch, but never thought it would be longer. Which makes sense, because previous gen Integras were also longer than the Civic counterparts (coupe v coupe, sedan v sedan) It's probably all overhang, since I don't see them extending the...
  13. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

The RSX, AKA 4th gen "Integra," only came as a 3-door coupe yet everyone seems to be OK with that.
  14. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Watched some of his videos on other cars but I never liked them. He claims he's a professional, but some of the things he does show he has absolutely no knowledge on how cars work and the history of certain iconic vehicles. He has amazing skills tho, can't deny that.
  15. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Exactly my thoughts. What those "fans" want is basically a supra/Z type coupe with 90s Integra design and aftermarket fender flares. Oh and a $30K price tag, too. And they will still complain that it's FWD based and slower than Supra and Z in a drag race. This is what the Integra always has...
  16. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

Since you're rationally providing reasons unlike all the people on social media right now, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this new Integra. So, how do you think they should have done it?
  17. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

What worries me the most is the AT powertrain. 180hp CVT straight out of a Civic would be a dealbreaker for me.
  18. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

It does. 8th and 9th gen Si did as well, but RSX type-S and ILX 6mt didn’t. I didn’t know 7th gen Si came with an open diff tho.
  19. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

It’s obviously based on the Civic, didn’t we all know that? But if you think it’s a Civic hatch with different front and rear design then please go get your eyes checked.
  20. New Acura Integra Prototype Revealed! Priced ~$30,000, 1.5L VTEC Turbo

I like how it looks. I thought they’d at least mention the type S but well, I guess it’s not the time yet. What’s interesting to me is that at least the 6mt will come with LSD. That’s something Acura’s Si siblings never had.
