Daily driver/ commute. No track ambitions.

I've been reading through this forum, looking for any/all information about improving ride quality & comfort.

I have no interest in lowering, but if that is the only option then I'd only want to lower the bare minimum.

My priority is comfort and as smooth as possible ride quality while maintaining as much handling as possible.

It seems my options are limited to;

1. ) New Springs like the Eibach Pro Kit. (or others)
  • Will comfort and ride quality improve if I keep the original/stock Struts & Shocks? Or should those also be replaced? And if so which Struts/Shocks are recommended? I seen elsewhere some mentioned Koni Special Active, but a search on Koni does not list as available for my Year/Make/Model.
2.) New Struts & Shocks.
  • Similar question as above; Can I get an improvement if I keep the original stock Springs? Or is it best to replace Springs & Struts/Shocks together?
  • What is available for my year/make/model?
  • Where can I search?
3.) Coilovers
  • I've seen some posts here mention this may not really improve ride quality over the stock setup, but offers more lowering options and handling performance tuning ability. However, ...
    • Megan Racing EZ Series - The description on their website indicates comfort + ability to adjust. Reasonable price.
    • Koni GTS Coil Over Kit - Appears to be available at Tire Rack for for my car but no clear mention of on comfort/ ride quality + pricey.
    • Other brands - There appear to be many brands offering coilovers, but which is more for what I'm looking for?
Any advice or recommendation is greatly appreciated.

100% you need to change the tires. I have a 23 Aspec and I just put some Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4s on this past weekend. The difference in ride quality and road noise is night and day. Do not underestimate how much of a difference new tires can make.

@theonyx_bear , What size tires did you change to? My stock 2025 Aspec has 235/40-18. Did you switch to a 235/45-18 (thicker sidewall)? I've read elsewhere doing would only offer slight improvement.

Or, did you stay with the stock tire size and still achieve better ride quality?

You mentioned the ride quality difference is night and day, and that sounds like a pretty significant improvement. I would consider doing this as well before mucking around with suspension components. How much better did it make the ride quality over bumps, holes, expansion joints, rough pavement? Is it smooth and stable over most roads?

Lowering will cause a harsher ride...

I stayed with stock size. Smoother ride overall. Takes bumps and rough pavement closer to how my wife’s RDX does. I was honestly shocked at the improvement.

Nice! That's very impressive, my wife used to have a 2021 RDX so I'm very familiar with how it rides. How did you come to select the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4? I'm browsing Tire-Rack and they are rated as "Excellent" in the Ultra High Performance All-Season category along with an Excellent rating for comfort.

Honestly I couldn't tell the difference between Normal, sport, comfort. Sounds like you need a Cadillac Escalade.
