Oh, crap. One important question I didn't ask. I have them - so I'll have to reach out to them or modify & repaint myself. Thanks for sharing! They confirmed the side splitters will not fit with the splash guards.

I do plan on tracking, but not sure if I'll have the opportunity to test before and after or not just quite yet.this is great information. It’s great you’ve had exposure to HDPE. When I specified it, it was for burial of fiber optic cable over long distances. The advantages it has over PVC is it can withstand large amounts of load pressure, extreme temperatures so it wouldn’t crack in sub freezing temperature allowing water seepage into fiber cable.
that being said, it’s not indestructible. But to be used as splitters, it’ll withstand bumps and punches better without cracking like other plastics or carbon fiber. As far as I know I’ve seen HDPE fabricated in different colors with paint stripes on it. Doesn’t seem to be a huge issue.
if we were to have artwork body shop paint the splitter kit, they’d have to paint match it very well. Could look very nice if they’re up to that task. Hope to see some people get colored options.
25lbs isn’t bad, was afraid it’d be 50lbs+. You’d still come out ahead with lighter forged wheels as it affects driving and corner much more than just shedding weight straight up.
You may want to test on a track or straight way without the kit then with it on. See if makes a difference. Either way looks great!
If you modify, please share. I park next to an FL5, and I've been eyeing those side spoilers every day, haha.Oh, crap. One important question I didn't ask. I have them - so I'll have to reach out to them or modify & repaint myself. Thanks for sharing!
Im definitely going to have to now. I'm looking at photos, & it'd be nice to simply slide them to the rear more - but I'm sure they've tried that already. If that doesn't work, then I'll just have to trim the front or contour them to the guards. I'm assuming a scroll or jig saw with a fine tooth blade would work for cutting this material best? Then cleaning it up with a dremel? If you modify, please share. I park next to an FL5, and I've been eyeing those side spoilers every day, haha.
Yeah. You could try to match the front edge to the curve of the splash guards, although that might be difficult to get it just right.Im definitely going to have to now. That’s interesting, do the side spoilers ever stare back at you?If you modify, please share. I park next to an FL5, and I've been eyeing those side spoilers every day, haha.
Exactly what I’ve been mulling over. Haven’t installed yet but I put these red carbon fiber flexible flaps to get a glimpse and figure out how I plan to cut and shape them for future side splitters. So they have a solution on the worlds in that they are going to be soon making their own splash guards to work with them.
Now I don't know exactly what to do - probably the best thing to do is simply install an ugly rally style mudflap temporarily on the front if that will work until theirs are ready.
This is the move... easier with straight cuts going this route, and the splash guards are way cheaper, too.instead of cutting your new side Splitters, why not modify your oem mud guards instead? It’s plastic and the mounting screws could be relatively adjusted and hidden within the wheel well.
I did bring this up to them as well & figured it would likely be easier to modify these instead. Plus if I mess up, it will be easier to get some new guards. Or just go with a flexible guard like what you have pictured for now as long as it won't catch on the tire - at least until theirs come out. I'm going with wide wheels (18x10.5) so I might ask them to design on that rides up the flare just a tad higher than OEM.Exactly what I’ve been mulling over. Now I need to check out what the CTR side splitters look like ? was there a particular brand? This is the move... easier with straight cuts going this route, and the splash guards are way cheaper, too.
They're OEM, and unfortunately they're integrated into the side panel. I tried to find the part so I could just go that route ?Now I need to check out what the CTR side splitters look like ? was there a particular brand?
Ah, I see. Ok, thanks! I'll look at how they're contoured. They're OEM, and unfortunately they're integrated into the side panel. I tried to find the part so I could just go that route ?
