Hi all, potentially stupid question incoming but my brain is shutting down when I try to figure out wheel stuff.
Will hopefully be picking up a Type S here in the next week or so. I’m in Northern VA and have done the summer/winter tire setup dance before, and wondering if I want to do it again (or even can).
Option 1: After reading recommendations here, I may just go with the DWS06+ and not have to deal with swapping tires out, especially with how manic our weather can be.
Option 2 (maybe): I still have my old 19” forged wheels leftover from my Focus RS I previously owned. Bolt pattern is 5x108, 19x8, and I believe they’re a 50mm offset. Would it be possible to repurpose these wheels with spacers/adapters/hub centering ring? I am not entirely sure what I’d need here, if this would even work or if it’d even be advisable. I know this is not *ideal* for winter tires, but it’s more about the cold and less about any snow.
Appreciate any insights anyone may have, and thanks for entertaining what may be a dumb question.
