I don't know who cares to read this, but I've always been bummed that my Integra doesn't have a boost indicator (23 CVT A-Spec Tech). What I find the most annoying is that my 2017 Civic EXT had a boost indicator (it wasn't truly useful, but it was there).
Well I had this brilliant idea to buy an AEM gauge (AEM X-Series OBDII Gauge) that plugs into the OBDII port and reads all the outputs available. I thought that would be perfect, and the gauges are very sleek. I would feel pretty cool having a single gauge in my Integra mounted,, so I found a used one on eBay and got it delivered pretty quickly!
I plugged it in and went through all the different parameters available (Manual), and it turns out that the OBDII port in my car doesn't output any boost pressure numbers. I power cycled my car, unplugged the gauge several times, and verified that the parameters shown are the only ones I get. If you look at the guide, I would want to see the "Int. P." for PID 70, which is boost pressure control. The only Int. P value I get is is 0B, which is the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure). Not the same thing as KTuner so kindly pointed out to me in an email.
AEM does note on their website that not all parameters are supported by all cars (which makes sense), and this is the definitive answer for the Integra CVT. I bet money it shows up on the 6-speed ;-; I just want to be able to see my boost pressure while I'm driving. I wanted to be the least invasive (as in, not connecting directly to the turbo line), and I wanted to avoid getting an Android phone to connect to my KTuner v1.2. Sorry not sorry, but the V2's design looks terrible and I don't want that in my car.
Anyway, figured I'd post this in case anyone with a CVT has been toying with a similar idea. Our options are limited as you can see, and I just don't understand why we don't get the option in the Instrument Cluster like the other models. Yes, I looked high and low, it's not there, but if you see the gauge and you have a CVT, I'll gladly stand corrected!
