Everything I have heard about the Type-S so far sounds completely suitable for my needs. I have not had a new car in 15 years, and I am really looking forward to this one. My only real hope is that it might be available in a deep green or purple.
Yeah, I saw the Jonathan Rivers AMA. Why the all-caps? We'll see if he meant what he said. As I mentioned earlier, I don't care either way. I'll buy one even if it's wind-powered and one-wheel-drive.

I don't have a "local" dealer per se. My closest ones are 1, 2, and 3 hours away, respectively. Is your personal conviction about buying local rooted in recycling your money in the local economy (valid) or "creating a relationship with a dealer" that you may get service with (also valid)?
I noticed in the Acura press release that it does not explicitly state front-wheel-drive, it only notes the LSD. To me that is for one of two reasons.
1. They don't want to admit it has FWD only and subsequently slow down the hype train.
2. It has AWD available, and they want to save that...
To each their own. I'm a big fan of the definition in the fenders, as long as they are not tacked-on a la FK8. A duckbill spoiler would seal the deal for me.
