Using a JB4 in 2023 on an Integra Type S is like using a V-AFC in 2006, after the advent of widely-available factory ROM editors came into the mainstream.
Lying to the ECU is never OK.
They're a waste of time and money, and overcomplicate a simple engine to make power with.
Turbocharger, charge cooling, a little more exhaust flow, fuel supply, octane, tuning.
That's literally all you need for 500hp from the stock longblock.
There's no reason to open anything in the engine...
The only stored information that can exist is anything tied to an active DTC. You're referring to "freeze data."
If there's no DTC present, there is no freeze data.
Dealerships absolutely LOVE to claim some magical "black box" data exists, but it simply doesn't.

That's implying the ECU can even be unlocked/jailbroken through the DLC to begin with. Hondata doesn't tell their bench unlock hardware to anyone.
The only hope anyone has to not send their ECU away is if their "instant jailbreak" service is implented for the FL5/DE5 someday, but I wouldn't...
