  1. First/second gear behaving like CVT - traction or slipping clutch?

The Michelins turn to rocks at anything around 60 or under, especially if you only drive a few miles before needing to accelerate. In 55-65 temps, it takes at least 10 miles to get these tires to a working temp. Cornering isn't too bad, but acceleration traction is poor. I've experienced...
  2. AC system / Blower motor? issues

If the blower motor has issues, the hvac system will shut down the compressor. Honda auto climate control has been like this for well over 20 years. If you manually crank the blower to full, does it stay there? The system monitors blower current draw to determine if it's actually working...
  3. Help! No one can figure out this issue

Since I just caught this: What are fuel trims both short term and long term, at idle and 2500 rpm (steady)? When it starts after sitting, how much black smoke comes out the tailpipe. Since it is doing it when put back to stock, you need a scanner that can: Perform the DI fuel pressure test...
  4. Gloss black color code?

Thanks! I looked up some parts, the hood vent has the color code. Just ordered some touch up.
  5. Gloss black color code?

Does anyone know what the color code is for the gloss black trim on the car? Today, while washing, I found a chip on the upper part of the diffuser. I'd like to find the best match possible.
  6. Rotating Michelin Pilot sport 4s for the first time

Mine are rotated at each wheel swap. Winters go on in November (rotated f to r, directional). Summers back on in March, and rotated. The michelins are asymmetric but not directional. Winters show no camber wear, surprisingly. Yet the Michelins do.
  7. Weird Flex (how low can you go?)

Here's my car's indicated fuel mileage numbers. I don't drive it easy, nor ridiculously hard. My daily commute is 17-22 miles each way, depending on which way I go.
  8. Insurance cost on an Integra Type S

Here in overpriced and overtaxed NJ, I paid $1800 last year just for the teg. NJM insurance. Can't get insurance much better than NJM here in NJ. My S2000 and SVT Lightning are $1250/yr with Hagerty.
  9. Winter Windshield and Wiper Hassles

In maintenance mode the wiper arms can be fully extended up and off the windshield. I always put them down and push them gently to near park position before turning the ignition on.
  10. Misfire codes on start up

Sorry, I misread. P219e is cylinder 3 fuel/air ratio imbalance. ckp pattern learn, is in most bi directional scanners that are able to perform that function. In the case of some Hondas it requires putting the car in that state, and the scanner has you floor it and run it to a built in...
  11. Misfire codes on start up

P0219e is engine overspeed. When all the flashing, etc has been done, has a ckp pattern relearn been done?
  12. ITS Rear pads shot after 20k miles

The FK8, iirc, averaged about 20k per rear set. A couple of customers at my old shop had them, both did about 20k+- and 30-40k on the fronts. (daily street driven)
  13. rattling noise. Please help me figure this shit out.

sounds like gear rattle in the transmission. If the clutch is depressed, and it's quiet, and when you let it out in neutral, the trans spins up inside and that's what you hear. It's louder than what I'd ever consider normal for a new car.
  14. Disable Fake Engine Noise

Do you have the lighted sill plates? If so, they run on 12v, from what I recall. The fuses that feed the plates should have only 12v when the doors are open. If not, the wiring is already there to tap into. What are you using for lamps for footwell lights?
  15. Disable Fake Engine Noise

I took a quick look at the power distribution, bcm and exterior lights diagrams. Mitchell lets me print the diagrams, I can't save diagrams to send, at least here at home. There are two fuses (27 and 30) that send constant 12v to the lamp assemblies, both 15a in the underhood fuse box...
  16. Disable Fake Engine Noise

I use Mitchell 1 at work, it's taken forever for them to get just the wiring diagrams on their site. The anc/asc unit is integrated into the audio system and on two different networks. I wish they'd just have a fuse for that unit, but the fuse that powers it, powers a bunch of other units as well.
  17. Disable Fake Engine Noise

Question to those that have unplugged the anc/asc module above the glovebox. Does the bluetooth mic still function for phone calls and other voice commands/google assistant? I followed the wiring diagrams and all 3 headliner mics go to it, and the front center one is the one for, as Honda...
  18. Clutch in to start. - Question.

This car is similar to my former '17 6-6 Accord, just clutch in, and start. My sister had an '18 Sport Accord 6mt, clutch in, park brake must be set and the brake pedal depressed to start. On my '03 S2000, I disabled a troublesome clutch switch, I have to keep in mind to shift to neutral...
  19. Three stages of DTC in regards to Pops and Bangs

P0087 is iirc low rail pressure. Where was your fuel level? If the hp fuel system is coding low rail pressure (in comparison to what's desired by the PCM) it could be being starved on the lift pump side. Not sure if Honda has a pressure sensor on the supply side of the fuel system.
  20. Replacing OEM Pilot Sport 4S tire

Acura parts for less sells them for $299. The DT1 has the checkered sidewall. The "regular" PS4S has 'michelin total performance' whatever that means. I also noticed that the regular tire is 'eco focused', maybe lower rolling resistance?
