I’ve been using a Garmin catalyst … decent info but I haven’t seen a speed chart … I think you’re probably talking about something truly integrated like Aim Solo(?)?. I haven’t gotten there yet and change cars so often it seems like a headache. No doubt it would help me, as would more coaching...
thanks for sharing! i've been reading through a few of the threads trying to put together my spring track order list. i'm a fairly aggressive intermediate/advanced driver but hard on brakes (not because i'm "fast" but because i'm a hamfisted hack lol!) couple quick questions if you have time...
you know how opinions are. lol. Normally people complain about long gearing but shifting too often on the track is slow so longer gears make sense imo. ITS gear ratio is just fine to me and I love driving it on the street …. I’ve also been fine driving cars with long gears on the street...
I hated the lack of hard buttons/knobs in the G80 when I had one. Otherwise great car. Traded it for ITS and miss some things about that car but still just love the [more] playful nature of the ITS. G80s are a really good do-everything car. Lack of cup holders on the CS was annoying ?
Agree to disagree. Of all the track cars I’ve had, the Camaro is the best. Plenty fast but not crazy. Easy to change brake pads (no new caliper bolts for a simple pad change like Porsche). Acceptable recaro seats. Ability to adjust front camber to like -2.7* without any crazy upgrades...
CT4V BW seems like a great car but the engine sound has never excited me, otherwise seeems like a fun car. It probably sounds slightly better than an M3/4 (which is my least favorite part about that car too), but the CT5VBW is where I’d probably go if I chose Caddy. Wife says Cadillac is for...
I prefer the ITS styling and stereo. And definitely seats. Wife hates the red interior and CTR was going for $5-10k over MSRP so I got the ITS and haven’t looked back. Now I just need some wheels/tires and brake pads for Watkins Glen.. ?️ ?
yeah I’m not interested in blazing trails and coming up with new hardware solutions either. I appreciate the work others do but I don’t think there’s as shop near me that would be helpful either.
black CTR seats seems like a perfect solution to me. Hopefully that would be very plug and play...
those black CTR seats or these HRC would be incredible. The stock seats in the integra are my biggest complaint (by far). Would also be fun do do buckets in the rear (M5 CS style)… although I probably wouldn’t follow through on that one haha.
Barber is like a country club compared to most tracks. I haven’t been there in several years but I loved it! I personally think Road Atlanta would be fine with an instructor. I did the skip barber school there and used their 911 in the rain. Not ideal but doable with instruction. Went back...
I’ve done road Atlanta and barber which are close ish for you depending on what side of the city you’re on.
Motorsportsreg is a good resource as mentioned. Not everything pops up on there. I find myself going to the individual track websites and checking out their calendars to see who is going...
Good dialogue here. I love VIR and hoping to get down there sometime this year. I might be taking the ITS but unsure what I’ll be driving by that time. I love the full course but have only done the North course and Full… maybe I’ll get to try the grand configuration sometime. I am pretty...
X1 is actually a great car for the money … I had a 2019 … I think. The rear has a lot of space and it was quite fun to drive, felt rather light on its feet which is hard to find. Visibility was amazing out of it too. Seating position felt low for an “suv” which I liked but my wife disliked...
okay good… so I didn’t say it’s not a track car, just not a track car for me. lol.
I’ve seen some bizarre stuff being used as a track car/van(!) and this wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the list for “I’d never do that”.
Your 95% number is conservative, it’s just not something...
super fun daily driver. I keep looking at autobahn cruisers (M8, M5, RS6) thinking “that would be such a good daily.” Those things offer a lot of power, features, luxury and flex, but I know I’d miss the FUN that is offered by the ITS.
Hey there! You seem to have a ton of experience and certainly more than I do. I do think it’s odd to say the its is closer to a track capable car than any Camaro, Vette, Mustang though. Putting it even with a 3RS is wild.
When you say track capable, do you mean from a reliability...
