I agree somewhat on the price but the market does not. If you go to any Audi dealership, there is a long waiting list for the RS3. I went to an Audi dealership in Marietta GA in December of 2023 and the waiting list was up to 34 people. So I think the market has spoken.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on the manual transmission feel of the ITS. I have driven many manual cars, including several Hondas, and this manual is the best one by far. I saw some people said that it is comparable to some of the manual Porches but what do I know since I cannot afford a...
If you are really keen on an ITS, I recommend you put a deposit with a dealer. I bought mine from Naley Acura in Marietta GA and they are MSRP with no forced add-on. Talk to Chris Pugh and he will help you.
Some other options are Civic SI (you need to mod it to get close to CTR/ITR) and Golf...
I have not seen a list like that in this board. My understanding is that jailbreaking the ECU and tuning it will void the warranty. Not sure with other engine mods.
There are people that switch the back seats with Integra A-Spec seats and worked really well.
But the one risk is your insurance and any other legal stuffs if you get into an accident. The car is a 4 passenger car so the insurance may decline payment if you have 5 passengers. Just a thought.
I belong to some of the BMW forums but most (maybe all of them) are die hard European car fanatics so Japanese cars are almost never mentioned. The would do comparisons with Audi, Mercedes, Porche, Alfa and other European cars.
Not Acura in general, but ITS is currently very rare due to the high demand and low supply. Acura is purposely only making up to 10% Type S vs. the general Integras. For example, I live in GA and I have only seen 2-3 ITS since July 2023. This past weekend I went to the Caffeine and Octane car...
Love your feedback and experiences. And so true on the seats!!!
And to add to your plan for the Continental DWS06+. While I kept the Michelin 4S on my ITS, I changed the M3 tires to the Continental DWS06+. I found them really good for comfort and noise. I have driven them through some rains...
PRL has not launched their HVI for FL5/DE5 until sometime early next year. The intake that was mentioned was a drop-in. Here are the options from PRL:
Drop-in filter only...
M5 is awesome but the size may be a little too big for my need. It’s funny that I put a deposit for an RS3 but I was number 36 in their waiting list at the beginning of December. I then turned my attention to the M2 but it was too small and only two doors. And then I looked at the M3 and luckily...
I had a minor accident on a motorcycle when I was a child and never have the courage to be on one again. Plus my wife would never let me drive or ride in one.
A Supra or 981 would also be great options but not as rare (have only seen one or two ITS since July). But I bought the ITS first and then started to having issues with my previous daily car so decided to replace it.
Agree 100% with your analysis on the G80 M3 with one exception, the looks. I think it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because I really love how different and aggressive the front looks. The minute you see it you know it is an M3. Plus the M3 is my daily work car so I want it...
I also purchased the Mishimoto tank and it looks and performs wonderfully. I bought it from Amazon. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MHPXKHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
The ITS clutch is perfect for daily driving, not too hard but not too soft either. My son has a WRX and every time I use it, the clutch feels like my left feet is getting an exercise with a 30lbs dumbbell.
Agree on the grip on the ITS, and it is worse with the mods/tune. I will be trying two things to hopefully improve the grip: 1. Install a PRL rear motor mount and 2. Get 275 tires. I also have to say that the tune made the ITS so much more fun, even if it sacrificed the grip. The car just flies...
