I was surprised but the insulation pieces actually came pre-installed on mine .

Had this happen to me the other day , very annoying and embarrassing . What a horrible noise. I wonder if the rock guards may help a bit but most likely not. Does this happening actually scratch or mess the brakes up in any way ?

T30 torx bit , phillips head and small flat head , 10mm socket and 5.5mm and extension. I think that's about all I needed. It took me about 1-2hrs only bc I am no mechanic either and took my time. I think the hardest part was getting the stock airbox out. I watched a youtube video for that part.

What part of the install are the hose clamps used for and are they needed ?

From what I have heard the fl5 intakes work .

I'm not sure until it arrives but it doesn't bother me. I'll post pics and small review after I install and test it out. May be another month or so.

They should make a little tool of some sort so when this happens we can easily stick it in there and get the rocks out.

Do you notice any heat soak with just street driving ? or any performance gain ?

I noticed allot of debris fall in between the window jams on this car . There is larger gap than needed and this may be the cause of some of the issue .
