I feel like this didn't get the comments it deserved but wow. I don't like how "flat" the 19" TE37s Saga's look but these look fantastic.
Where did you get these?
It's my 2nd car which I drive 2x during the workweek and take out sometime on the weekend and I already feel like I visit the pump with it too often.
The tank is fine on the civic that gets like 30+ mpg. On this car, it's too small.
This. Like most things, there's a little bit of truth on each side. OP, I think most of your complaints are valid, but I mostly agree with the seats and build quality.
I also agree with the responses that some are trifling. But I've noticed a level of white knighting on behalf of the DE5 here...
God those seats look marvelous. I don't like the stock seats in this car at all. I'm not a big dude and the FL5 seats fit me like a glove so the stock ITS ones don't support me very well at all.
I don't want to come across as talking shit but you said this seldom happens, but it sounds like it's happened with such frequency between you and your wife that you've noticed a pattern already.
Here's me stalling my car now when I leave work today :p
Sorry but what kind of input are you looking at then? You are asking whether you should bend the knee or look at another dealer but you are also saying there's no leverage and they don't have to budge.
In that case, isn't the only reasonable course of action here to shop elsewhere?
Lol oh boy what a project. Are you going to just try and clean out the underlayment or you replacing it?
This is why I have a no food policy in my cars.
I felt the same when I first got it but I think part of that too was just getting used to how much louder it is from stock.
Like optronix said though, the resonance definitely loosened up some rattles here and there. The annoying thing is it also depends on the temperature.
The VA STi was such a good looking car to me and was actually one of the cars I considered before I picked up the DE5. At the end of the day, I wanted a new, reliable car vs chancing a used STi.
I'm sure it's a joy to drive but I didn't consider it because I couldn't get over how ugly it was to...
Good to know! I got my car from Glendale as well and they pooh-poohed my complaints of this noise on the drivers side door. That really turned me off from taking my car back to them for other noise issues.
If you don't mind, can you PM me the name your service advisor? I wouldn't mind driving...
Slimfit3 lx is probably good for you too then. It's nice and narrow. Graco's install just sucks compared to Britax since Britax is damn near dummy proof - no tightening, finagling, fixing.
You just click the seatbelt in, push the toddler seat bottom down and it fixes it in place.
Another note: I got these since they were relatively cheaper than the britax I have in my other car (and the integra isn't a dedicated kid hauler). But if it was my DD, I'd strongly consider the britax one4life slim which is the narrower version of what my wife and I have in each of our cars -...
I have the slimfit3 lx which I believe is functionally the same carseat as @akoza's tri-ride.
No issues with the fixed headrest and good on @akoza to point out the top strap. One tip though - you don't need to ratchet it down that it compresses the headrest. It just needs to be taut so tight...
