They gave me a sheet showing that they checked a bunch of stuff, the battery, the tires. the brakes, the fluids and so on. That included setting the tire pressure to the sticker value, but that was in a somewhat warm garage, once left out in the cold the pressures went down to several psi below...
Dropped off my car last evening and picked it back up after lunch today. Since I had no issues before it feels identical. My only complaint is that they took air out of my tires. The car was in their warm garage all night and when they finished the job at 8:30 this morning and they parked the...
Was driving south on 81 out of Syracuse yesterday to go skiing. I was on a straight stretch with a car or two in the far distance, not close enough to be picked up by the cruise yet, when my car started braking for no apparent reason. It lasted for a second or two and then things were briefly...
I think itād be hard to find somebody to do a wheel as nice and custom. The Guardian Designs wheels are built on an OEM core and the air bag and controls fit right on. Their quality is a know quantity, so that was another reason I went with them. Iād hate to hire somebody to redo my wheel and...
In the Miata world a company in Poland, Guardian Designs, makes custom wheels to your specifications, from mild to wild. Theyāve done Honda wheels before, S2000 and CR-Z, maybe they can be convinced to start a Civic/Integra line.

I store the car in an unheated barn from November to the end of March. My definition of a flat spot is, well, a flat spot. The tires thump and vibrate the car for the first few miles before resolving itself. Since I live in the upstate NY the conditions can get very cold during the winter...
Umm, no. Iāve been storing my Miata in the winter for 15 years now, and the tires always have a flat spot when I drive the first time in the spring. Yes, it works itself out once the tires warm up, just have to have a little patience during the first 5/10 miles. Current tires are Michelin...
Finally got the winter wheels on with the McGard lug nuts. Theyāre 3/4ā like the OEM lug nuts and the good news is that the Acura supplied lug wrench fits in the holes so I donāt have to remember to carry an adapter.
This has happened a couple of times. Both time were on the Mass Pike while traveling to/from Boston or Rhode Island. So far it hasnāt happened locally, so just monitoring it for now. If it starts happening more often then Iāll be giving the dealer a call.
Didnāt know this. Just put my snow tires on yesterday and ran the numbers, should put an extra psi in the snows. I actually put in 2 psi figuring that the temperature is going to drop anyway.
Been storing my Miata during the winters for 15 years. I just fill the tank, add some Stabil and put the battery on a tender. I leave the window open a bit and run a dehumidifier in the garage. Lots of mouse traps around the car.
I use to have a boat and I stored it in a barn with no heat or...
Well I finally broke down and put on the snow tires today, the weather is starting to change, rain, freezing rain and snow in the forecast for the next week. I was hoping to get past Thanksgiving since Iām driving from Syracuse to Boston and would prefer to drive on the OEM tires.
Just out...
I like the style, similar to BBS wheels I had on my ā95 VW GLX, but the color doesnāt work for me with the silver car. What brand are they? Something darker would work better in my eye.
For my Miata I just yank the battery, put it on my work bench, connect the battery tender and come back in the spring to get it. Doesnāt make a difference, I just prefer having the electronics depowered for the winter.
