First impressions what a car !!. Handles well, good power, brakes are sharp, Love the exterior , just not sure about the interior. Iam not saying it's bad, overall interior look and feel are great, seats are comfy, driving position is not to high up thus very engaging.

I just don't understand why they took out some amenities that's in (lesser) trims and just not there period. For 50k plus price point imo you should have dual power seats, folding mirrors, rear USB/air vents, built in garage door opener,, etc....

I can't say it's a deal breaker but it makes me a bit hesitant to put a deposit down . Iam wondering if they will add some of these creature comforts down the road on the 24/25 model years for the type s.

They won't, and all your complaints have been filed by many others. Acura takes them all, puts them in a box, takes a shit in it, lights it on fire, puts it on Oliver Zipse's doorstep, rings the doorbell, and runs away, laughing uncontrollably.

TBH, if your F80 is clean and is working for you, in my honest opinion it's the only car that legitimately competes with the ITS from an "enthusiast perspective". I truly love this car- but if I could find a nearly perfect F80 comp package with a manual and low miles for ~$50k, I'd have to deeply consider it.

The problem is that people are using as reference the ASpec instead of the CTR.
The ITS is just a nicer CTR contrary to popular belief that is a faster ASpec.

Additional things that you get over a CTR standard package:
  • More aggressive body lines
  • Upscaled Interior
  • Heated front seats
  • HUD
  • Powered driver seat
  • Parking Sensors
  • Auto dimming rearview mirror
  • Better sound system
  • More aggressive tuning
  • One more year of bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty

Things that you get over a CTR in many cases for less $.
  • Body Kit is way more aggressive and stands out more
  • The interior is more upscaled
  • Front heated seats
  • HUD
  • Powered driver seat
  • Parking Sensors
  • Auto dimming rear view mirror
  • Better sound system
  • More aggressive tuning

Counterpoint- the Type R gets the more race-oriented seats and gauge cluster orientation/track-specific software.

And a wing, in case you hadn't noticed.

One thing is for sure...the 24/25 model will cost more money. Meanwhile, who knows if they will add any of those trivial features. Being hesitant to put a deposit down over the lack of those features simply suggests that you may be in the market for a different car (and that's okay). Those of us with a deposit down or having the car already believe the ITS is well worth every cent!

When the marketing videos came out in June, Acura was pretty adamant in comparing the ITS to the A-spec and not the CTR.

Don't let these small things hold you back. If they come out with them, it wouldn't be hard to upgrade or add them on after the fact.

As it pertains to me, the driving experience really outweighs these shortcomings. I've owned cars with all the options commonly people "expect" at this pricepoint, but in the end I'd give all those up to have what is the ITS's strongest point, its manual transmission.

We are pretty fortunate that the car industry still continues to sell manuals cars, and even luckier a few attainable ones that don't require one to cashout their 401k.

I really can't compare the f80 to the its. I've had that car for a few years, I know it well. Only seat time I got in the ITS was a half hr at best with a (senior) sa, i didn't want to scare him plus it's new to me so I didn't push the car around corners to hard. Besides that the ITS is not a replacement for the f80 iam keeping it. The type s would be my new daily and would see all 4 of the wi seasons.

From what I looked at golf r , civic r , stinger the ITS will suit me the best, I do like the civic r and even though its more subdued from the previous gen it's still to teenager ricer for me imo iam sure others will disagree, plus it has even less amenities.

As far as pricing goes my head is still stuck in pre hyperinflation/pre pandemic pricing. Just today I had a person at work tell me they bought a hundia Tucson last week at msrp out the door tax title 48k I SHIT A BRICK. Money just is not stretching as far as it did in 2019 early 2020.

Your right on the f80/f82, very hard to find a low mileage 1 owner with a clean car fax crash free for 50k almost impossible

Iam going back to the acura dealer this week, not to drive it but to tinker with some of the electronics amd what not. I will make my decision then

Good call on keeping your F80. Kind of curious your plans for it but that's completely off-topic.

You also appear to have made the revelation that many people in comment sections still can't quite grasp. $52k is a very reasonable price for what you get in this car. The driving dynamics are better than your F80 (it is slower though... by a lot IMO the S55 is an amazing engine), and the "creature comforts" are mostly there. Just keep thinking about a run-of-the-mill compact SUV costing just about the same, and you'll come to grips with it.

Honestly though, you shouldn't be surprised. Assuming you bought your F80 new, my F82 when bought new in 2015 was $78k. A G80 comp will run you well north of $100k. Things are insane.

Don’t forget five extra ponies. Also ADS that’s much more enjoyable on the streets

Nope iam the 2nd owner was a very low mileage 1 owner cpo car and its not a manual my first (real) dct I love it. Only dct better imo is the pdk from porsche. The behavior of it is so much like a manual, No park gear , rolls back on a incline and it will even jerk a bit in first if gas is not applied smooth. No plans for it, that car has remained bone stock from factory. I do plan on doing a stage 1 bm3 tune. Can't argue with a 100 hp and tq bump from just a 600 dollar email.

My fav is manual my srt is a 6 speed and where I spent time modding, built a motor for 1000 horse Landed at 800. Iam not a track rat it's enough to keep up with the stuff around town (i dont live texas) seems like there 1k whp is the norm. I content for now don't think I need a thousand hp its almost useless on the street without AWD.
Anyways back to the ITS, manual fun car coupled with Honda reliability can you go wrong I think not

Yeah I'm a fan of having varied experiences in cars, you've got a pretty nice garage there if you decide to augment it with an ITS. Very little overlap.

I think you should get your F80 to a track, and turn it into a track car. DCT is perfect for that application, and it's a great platform.

Anyway, if you can come to terms with the lack of homelink and rear USB chargers, good luck getting one for MSRP. That seems to be the hangup for most people on the hunt for one, but it can be done.

Yeah that lack of equipment isint a deal breaker but I do have a bit of fomo. Its my luck they will add some of those items down the road.
Believe it or not my local dealer is not charging a adm, flip side to it is they were saying iam not getting one any time soon and could even be a year, Join the wait list here and put a thousand down.

That's great you were able to pick up a clean low-mileage CPO F80. The DCT is marvelous in the F8x platform. And I agree it's second only to the PDK. It's incredible what a Stage I flash will get you on the S55. I picked up 55whp/104wtq (SAE) on 93 octane and even more under the curve. Very fast on the street! You would easily break traction between 3rd and 4th at WOT. Do it! :)
