If the rumor of the Type-S being AWD and the 272hp (or 306) 2.0T the Integra may be a "gentleman's" WRX.

Side Thought: I find a version of the 2.0T likely, but unsure if AWD can work with the current Civic platform. Though without AWD it's likely to be competing to close with the 2.0T Accord where people may find giving up 20hp for a bit more space at likely comparable price a fair deal.

Opinions?

Well from what I’ve seen of the undercarriage of the 11th Gen chassis it does have a driveshaft tunnel to the rear so i suspect SH AWD to be an option. Type S will compete against the likes of the BMW M235i GC Audi S3 and A35 AMG.

I suspect it will be intended to go against those, but I also suspect a lot of buyers will be cross shopping the WRX and Integra if AWD is added to the mix. More so if the shoppers are Millenials.

The 11th gen platform (modified from the 10th gen platform) is in fact capable of AWD as it is the same platform the current CRV rides on, the new Integra should have no issues being made AWD for the future Type S should they choose that route (possibly with electric motors to drive the rear wheels)

Has anyone actually tested the CVT? I'm just interested in if the handling on the GT is actually better.

I think the premium with the 11-Speaker Harman Kardon Speaker System plus Power Moonroof in manual is the best value and the one I'd probably go for. I hate how you have to go to the limited to get any sort of safety tech for the manual. I hate how eyesight is only available on the CVT.

That is a disappointment. I don’t have blind spot monitoring on my civic, so I can do without. I would miss the lane watch camera though.
