Many of you know what Flex Fuel is, but just as many do not. So, a little more education is warranted.

By the way, the CANFlex systems are flying off the shelves. Thanks for the support. We hope to see your reviews soon. Its pretty quick to install.

Software installation is easy. Select your vehicle, then the 49 state calibration for a stock fuel system or a Hondata Fuel System. View attachment 246807

Thank you again for the awesome product! Looking forward to testing it. I already have 3 kits lined up to tune on full fuel systems and bigger turbos.

All you need to remember are two numbers. The numbers three and four.

  • 3 Gallons E85 to 4 Gallons pump = E40
  • 3 Gallons pump to 4 Gallons E85 = E50
This gives you an excellent balance of range and performance.

I have a question about the tune running an ethanol blend. What I am thinking is that I will not always be able to get a blend depending on location and sometimes it will be straight 93 octane. Do we need a custom multi-tune so for example settig. 5 will be for ethanol mix and setting 4 will be regular 93? I am sure the content analyzer plays into the ECU calculations but I am wondering if we get it tuned on ethanol is that tune still safe when running 93 only? I am new to flex fuel so inquiring.

This is the beauty of the CanFlex kit. It requires no map switching. The car will self adjust to the programmed settings on the ethanol tables. Essentially acting like on the fly map switching.

You still have access to the regular map switching but in my opinion it is even more convenient on the canflex since it does it on the fly.

Your car is safe on everything from 93 to E85. The calibration provided and indicated in this thread adapts and changes automatically for whatever ethanol level you have in your tank. A reputable tuner could make more power but the supplied calibration is conservative to protect your clutch.

Thats a cute rule but dosent apply in my area. E85 ranges from station to station. So depending on what station I will have to calculate. Some are high 70% other are in the 60% levels. Then if i switch and just run 93.. so yeah having that calc would be Handy in your app. Also will you be adding additional screens to it since its currently capped at 3?
