I wanted to introduce myself and start a build thread for my recently purchased 2024 Integra A-Spec Tech Package. My kids and I spent the last 6–7 years building a Land Cruiser, off-roading, camping, and documenting things on our YouTube channel.

Now they’re teenage drivers and interested in modifying their cars, so we’ve pivoted a bit from overlanding to an sport compact direction. This thread will be the home for my Integra build, and I’ll keep this first post updated.

I put a lot of miles on my car so want to get too crazy :) I am looking for a clean OEM+ build and maybe I'll get a little crazy once it has a ton of miles.

Thanks! I didn't even realize I could do that.
Yeah I didn't know until I saw a forum post on here about it a while back. I think it looks much better with the black background removed.

We got the PRL Cobra cold air installed and it sounds awesome. It was a fairly easy job and while subtle I can feel the additional power. Check out our install here

So why did you choose the Cobra intake of the HVI? I am about to buy an intake and I am curious why you went with the Cobra. Thanks

Good question, I spent a good deal of time thinking about this. I did a video on pros and cons but haven't quite finished to post yet. I think at the end of the day both are both great intakes these are the major factors that were influencing me.

1. Horsepower-A bit more horsepower to start 16+ hp vs around 10+ or so with the hvi. This is according to the prl website and with the Cobra they offer a dyno sheet.
2. General design and looks, my kids had a lot of influence here, they liked the aftermarket look under the hood.
3. Turbo Sounds- this is another one the kids had a lot of influence on. The Cobra gives more sound than the hvi. I was a little worried it might be too much but turns out I really like the sound, it's not obnoxious, and if you are just cruising it's pretty understated.
4. True cold air intake - i guess thia is really design and hp but worth mentioning.
4. Future potential, I expect prl will eventually offer a race maf housing like they have for other earlier Cobra intakes. I'm not sure that I'll ever do this but it's nice to know that it's a possibility.
5. Price, it's the same price but if you add the resonator delete kit and the cold air duct to the hvi, about $80, to get the benefits of cold air and sound then you're spending more for the hvi and increasing the complexity of the install.

Cobra Downsides -
1. slightly more complicated installation
2. way more complicated filter changes
3. low sitting filter in the wheel well scare some people off due to potential water exposure. I talked with PRL about this and they reassured me. It's enclosed within the wheel well so it's not going to get a lot of exposure to water unless you've removed the fender liners or you're in fairly deep water. I've resigned myself to anything more than a few inches of water on the road and I'm going to pull over and wait for a minute to be safe. I ran into people here and there who have hydrolocked their vehicles with low sitting cold air intakes. The most recent one I saw the guy said he was into one to two feet of water. That's way more than I plan to be in LOL.

I think that's about it. Hope that's helpful let me know if you have any other questions.
