The caster is what got my attention. On the Touring section of Dreamshop, Honda has camber plates, caster bearings, etc. I was (naively) hopeful that when they brought these HRC parts to market, we'd get something similar. After the reveal last night, I went looking elsewhere, haha.
The one silver lining here is the validation certain companies are getting for the excellent support they have provided for this platform. Good for them.
@optronix
Hey, completely unrelated, but I stumbled on these last night and thought of you (re: your consistently provided, constructive feedback on camber issues w. lowering springs)...
RSB pricing is from the Touring section, so not available to public. Unclear how pricing for public parts will play out, but it's not a good sign.
I believe the brake lines on the Touring section of Dreamshop have heat shielding, so if they offer those, it might be worth it, and I'm not sure...
...it has anodized red washers instead of purple? I was really excited for these HRC parts, but the display was extremely disappointing. The vast majority of these parts are just readily available components produced by other companies (RV6, KW, Titan7, Acuity) with an HRC sticker on them. This...
Any concerns with ventilation down there? Conventional wisdom is it's necessary, although I wonder with relatively low power and class D if it even matters...
Where are you planning on stuffing the amp? I was measuring the compartment on the driver's side of the hatch, but all the flat surfaces are pretty small due to the shape.
Hit the rear of the car with acoustic treatment (killmat + aggfoam):
While I was in there, I upgraded the sub to the RF 8" unit a couple folks here are running and took the opportunity to treat the box (killmat inside / out; poly fill inside; aggfoam outside):
Cabin acoustics / road...
That's what I thought. I had planned on doing one side for simplicity in my head, then read through the manual before getting to it and started second-guessing myself.
When you wired the Rockford, did you wire the positive connection from the amp to one VC and the negative to the other (before wiring the two positive and negative leads of the VCs to each other)? The diagram in the included instructions shows that layout, which caught me off guard. Wouldn't it...
Imo, the classic red Honda / Acura badge is too bright for the front, considering the size.
The darker red that @Old_Dad_Actual used looks good, though.
Yep, I know what you're talking about.
When first installed, NVH in the scenarios you're describing is very noticeable. For me -- and I specifically targeted the PRL mount because of its mild reputation -- it was jarring and I was worried the mount was going to be more aggressive than I wanted...
Agreed. I'm also running the PRL. Immediately post-install, it was a little rough in the scenarios @Victorofhavoc lists above, but it softened up over the first 100-200 miles or so. At this point, there's a little more vibration at start-up, but after RPMs normalize, it doesn't call attention to...
Looks like a cost effective solution for some nice touch-point updates, and I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately, it's not quite what I'm looking for. A big reason I was looking to do the rear doors isn't just the fact that they are hard-touch plastic, but it's that they are inconsistent...
Yep -- I did the same, and I'd recommend the approach to anyone reading. It definitely improves the impression you get when interacting with the doors. That's actually what motivated me to start looking for some kind of vinyl that mimics the surface up front.
