There's a ton of info in this thread: https://www.integraforums.com/forum/threads/which-acuity-parts-needed-to-just-remove-lateral-slop-on-shifter.57332/
I have personally done:
Acuity 4-Way adjustable shifter (1981-LHD)...
The manual in these cars, despite getting glazed by auto-journos who just endlessly repeat each other, is not that great out of the box. It's okay, but far from extraordinary.
There's a lot you can do to improve it.
Got this done today. The Acuity bushings aren't a crazy difference when you already have the full 4-way Acuity shifter, but they do make some difference and they aren't awful to install.
The Redline MTL made quite a difference. I am going to reserve full judgement until the car gets cold...
And somebody that planned the production schedule such that parts aren't piling up is getting a faaaaaat bonus.
It's intentional and it's incentivized.
I still don't find this acceptable.
Who is trying to get a fender for these cars just to... have on hand and not use? Like if you need a fender, it's going to be a high 90th percentile chance that you're replacing a damaged one.
Acura/Honda shouldn't play games with parts like this. It's...
This is literally every modern car and I hate it.
Thanks to the miracle of just in time manufacturing, the incentives that are put in place are for parts to arrive at the factory "just in time" to be assembled on a car.
And when one of us idiot consumers dares to damage a part, well it just...
Torque requirements do not change when you switch lug nuts. That's nonsensical and I've never heard that in my life.
Always use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended torque spec. 94 ft-lb for our cars.
If you buy lug nuts that can't handle 94 ft-lb, throw them in the trash.
WTF.
That's the one I used, with the caveat that you should point the loop forwards (away from the driver) rather than towards the driver as the instructions suggest, in order to maintain clearance for a wire harness that passes behind the CMC damper bracket.
Also, and I cannot overstate this...
The factory Honda MTL so far is doing good for me in the cold. It starts to feel just a bit sluggish around 0°F and below, but not bad. 20°F is no problem at all. Warms up quick.
I haven't had the time, but I have a gallon of Redline MTL that I'm going to give a shot. Redline MT-90 is...
Let us know how they fit. Brake caliper clearance is usually the biggest issue. If they just baaaaarely clear or baaaaarely touch, you can get very thin spacers from a company called Caold Technology out of Oz. Takes a while to ship around the world though.
